Young Children
Toddlers - Kindergarten
Under the watchful eye and guiding hand of our teaching staff, children age four and under are introduced to the Bible and to Jesus as they journey in formation of their faith.
Young children participate in music, story time, art and play. Through play, they learn to share, to be kind, to explore their feelings and to think of others, which are all vital to a young child’s faith development. They learn through experience that each person is a child of God.
Teachers for these two classes are employed by the church and are state-credentialed preschool teachers. Volunteer parents and youth are assistants. Parents are invited to attend class with their child.
A further opportunity for faith formation for the children occurs approximately 15 minutes into the weekly worship service, when all children are invited to come to the front of the sanctuary for Time with the Children. This time provides for a short spiritual lesson for the children, with adults in the congregation in attendance. Once the lesson has been presented the children are dismissed to attend their morning class.
Special Programs
Christmas Eve Pageant - an annual pageant that encourages participation by even our youngest children.
Palm Sunday - a celebration with a procession during worship of children and adults waving palm branches. Children are welcome to the corral to view and pet the donkeys after worship.
