Join Iris Harrell and Ann Benson for their first quarterly Bluebird of Happiness Café Coffee house concert on Saturday night, April 11th in the sanctuary (reception with refreshments at intermission and conclusion). Each concert will include a theme of the human condition to ponder and revel in and is guaranteed to bring you More Joy!
Ann Benson (guitarist, singer and arranger) & Iris Harrell (singer & bass player) started playing music together when they first met 35 years ago in Dallas, Texas. Ann grew up loving folk music of all kinds and Iris grew up on country and gospel music. Their blended sounds & arrangements are upliftingly harmonious. Ann played a lot of coffee houses over the years in Texas & Iris was in a band called Shiraz & on the road for 5 years. In Texas Ann and Iris formed a duo called More Joy. As they moved to California in the 1985 their lives slowly wandered away from having time for music. This concert represents their reemergence as their original music group name More Joy. Some of the other guest artists appearing on April 11 are: Ciro Giammona (singer, guitarist & songwriter) - leader of the Redwood City Band called E-Ticket, and Paula Filseth - highly accomplished violinist & fiddler
Come hear a Silicon Valley version of Prairie Home Companion music and humor. Donations at the door - $10. Childcare provided for children under 12. If you would like childcare, please call the church office with the number and ages of the children.
